Chinese warships are headed to the Baltic Sea for the first time for joint exercises with Russia, reports the state-run Global Times newspaper.
The July 21-28 drills will run involve around 10 ships from the Russian and Chinese navies, reported Russia's Sputnik news agency on Tuesday.
The exercise is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the navies in protecting cargo vessels, the Kremlin said in a statement reported by Tass.
