South Korea's Defense Ministry says a South Korean naval vessel fired warning shots Wednesday to drive away a North Korean fishing boat that crossed a disputed maritime border, Reuters reports.
The warship fired 10 warning shots in the West Sea to force the fishing boat to retreat into the North's maritime territory, said the ministry.
The incident took place in the same region a South Korean corvette was torpedoed in March, resulting in the deaths of 46 sailors.
