Navy Eyes 7 New Ships

The South African navy has announced plans to purchase six patrol vessels as well as a sealift and sustainment ship, reports the Pretoria News.

Acquisition plans, worth about US$192 million, cover six inshore and offshore patrol vessels and a multipurpose logistics ship as well as the establishment of a maritime reaction squadron, said Vice Adm. Refiloe Mudimu, the navy chief.
