Navy Escorts N. Korean Merchant Ship Away After It Violates Border

A North Korean commercial vessel that drifted into South Korean waters has been guided back to North Korean waters by the South Korean navy, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).

The vessel was detected crossing the Northern Limit Line maritime border in the Yellow Sea early in the morning on Nov. 27 while moving west under its own power.

A South Korean ship intercepted the vessel, broadcast warnings and fired several warning shots, said the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff.
