Navy Drills With Australia Along Maritime Border

The Indonesian and Australian navies are about to begin a week-long exercise along their maritime border, reports Antara News, Indonesia's national news agency.

The Kasuari Exercise is designed to improve interoperability between the two navies in the border region, said Commodore Amri Husaini, the head of Indonesia's Kupang naval base.

The May 11-18 drills are taking place to the south of East Timor, in an area from Rote Island in Indonesia to Australia's Ashmore Reef. ...
