Navy Cuts Reversed By Defense Chief

Gen. Walter Natynczyk, the head of the Canadian defense staff, has rescinded orders by the navy chief to reduce its operational fleet, reports the Toronto Star.

Navy chief Vice Adm. Drew McFadden last month, in a budget-cutting move, cut the fleet of 12 Kingston-class coastal defense vessels in half and scaled back weapons on other navy vessels.
