A top commander says the U.S. Navy is considering forward-deploying ballistic missile defense (BMD) ships to European ports, reports the Navy Times.
Basing missile-defense capable warships in Europe, similar to current practice in Japan, would make it easier to defend the continent, said Adm. Mark Fitzgerald, the head of Naval Forces Europe.
