The U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR) has classified its Sea Hunter unmanned surface vessel program, reports National Defense magazine.
An ONR spokesman declined to comment on the status of the program in an interview with the magazine on Jan. 4, saying that the information had been classified.
The Sea Hunter was christened in April 2016 in Portland, Ore. The project was transferred from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to the ONR in February 2018.
