The U.S. Navy has charged a sailor in the July 2020 fire that destroyed an amphibious assault ship in San Diego, Calif., reports Task and Purpose.
On Thursday, the service announced that it was charging a sailor with improper hazarding of a vessel and aggravated arson in connection with the fire aboard Bonhomme Richard.
The suspect is a seaman apprentice and was a crewmember on the ship at the time, reported the Navy Times.
