Navy Calls For Initial Production Of SM-6 Missiles

The U.S. Navy has awarded Raytheon Missile Systems a contract for initial production of Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) weapons, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The $65 million contract covers production of fiscal 2010 SM-6 Block I all-up rounds, instrumentation kits, design services, spares and containers.
The work is to be primarily performed in Tucson, Ariz., and Camden, Ark.; it is scheduled to be completed by December 2012.
