Navy Awards $324.5 Million Deal For Expeditionary Sea Base

The Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded a contract modification to General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding (NASSCO), San Diego, Calif., for the Montford Point-class vessel, reports the Dept. of Defense.

The $324.5 million deal definitizes the long lead-time material part of the undefinitized contract action and funds the detail, design and construction of Expeditionary Sea Base 5 (ESB-5), said the Pentagon release on Dec. 29.
