The U.S. Air Force has officially retired its T-43 combat systems officer training aircraft after 37 years of service, reports the Air Force News Service.
The last of the aircraft, a version of the Boeing 737, was decommissioned in a ceremony at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, on Sept. 17.
The T-43 was designed for undergraduate navigator training, including celestial navigation, which has been phased out by the service.
