Naval Group Awarded Two New Contracts For Brazilian SSN Work

Naval Group has reportedly entered into two new contracts with the Brazilian navy relating to the ongoing development of nuclear attack submarines totaling $615.42 million (EUR526 million). The first contract, valued at $288.17 million (EUR246.3 million), covers the provision of special engineering services, procurement, construction and assembly of the Controlled Auxiliary Building of the Nuclear Power Generation Laboratory. This contract runs 72 months from its initial signing date of June 4, 2025. The second contract, valued at $330.1 million (EUR282.1 million), includes work on specialized technical consultancy for the Additional Systems of the Conventionally Armed Nuclear Submarine (SNCA). The second contract lasts 54 months, beginning in June 2025. The first Brazilian nuclear submarine, ALVARO ALBERTO, is planned to be laid down later this year and delivered in 2034.
