Coalition forces in Afghanistan just stood up a new command for troops operating in the country's southwest region, reports NATO's International Security Assistance Force.
Regional Command Southwest (RC SW) covers the Helmand and Nimroz provinces as part of an effort to focus on geographically smaller areas and more cooperation between coalition and Afghan forces.
Marine Maj. Gen. Richard Mills leads the 27,000 personnel assigned to the command.
