NATO Deals For Mi-17s To Serve In Afghanistan

The Russian government and NATO are finalizing a deal to buy new Russian Mi-17 military helicopters for Afghanistan, reports Kommersant (Russia).
Moscow has approved the arrangement and is prepared to provide several of the 21 helicopters at no charge as a goodwill gesture, officials said.
The proposed contract is also expected to include the delivery of fuel, weapons systems, components and pilot-training programs.
