National Security Spending Emphasizes Border Protection

The Australian government has projected an Aus$4.3 billion (US$3.9 billion) national security spending program in its latest budget, reports ABC News (Australia).
About Aus$1.2 billion (US$1.1 billion) of the draft budget covers border security, with Aus$759 million (US$685 million) over four years earmarked for airport security.
The government has set aside another Aus$143 million (US$129 million) to increase capacity in immigration detention centers.
