Top Iraqi government officials discussed a potential purchase of S-300 or S-400 air defense systems with the Russian government during a visit to Moscow last month, reports Asharq Al-Awsat (London). Faleh Fayyad, the national security adviser and head of the paramilitary Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), brought up the subject in the wake of several airstrikes against PMF locations around the country.
