The Pentagon has decided to establish eight additional National Guard homeland response units in fiscal 2012, reports the American Forces Press Service.
The Guard units will be regional forces able to cross state lines as required and will be part of a restructuring of U.S. chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosive consequence management capabilities.
