The western North African nation of Mauritania has opened a new national crisis-management center that was developed with NATO support.
The center in Nouakchott, the nation's capital, is designed to help authorities quickly respond to crises and coordinate appropriate responses, according to a release from NATO on Tuesday.
A ceremony marking the opening of the center took place on Nov. 8.
