The French shipyard DCNS just unveiled the Aquitaine, France's first European multi-mission frigate (FREMM), reports defense-aerospace.com.
France has ordered 11 of the warships as part of a cooperative shipbuilding program with Italy that is expected to total 21 vessels.
The first nine French frigates will be configured for anti-submarine warfare, the last two designed for air defense missions.
