North Korea will soon have its own time zone, reports CNN.
With the establishment of "Pyongyang Standard Time" (GMT+8:30), the North's clocks will be moved back by 30 minutes on Aug. 15, according to the state-run KCNA.
The move is timed for the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of liberation from the colonial rule of Japan, when the current standard was set. It is seen as a way to bolster the role of dictator Kim Jong Un, said analysts.
