At least 40 people have been killed in a series of explosions in Baghdad, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Three bombs exploded early Thursday evening outside a Shi'ite mosque in the southwest Shurta neighborhood, killing at least 34 people and wounding 82 others, security officials said.
Hours later, six people were killed and 16 wounded when a car bomb exploded near a market in southeast Baghdad, in the Abu Disheer neighborhood, said officials.
