Western observers looking at the Russian aircraft carrier group in the Mediterranean Sea, ostensibly supporting the Syrian regime against rebels, have commented on the limitations of Moscow's conventional military capabilities, reports the Wall street Journal.
The Admiral Kuznetsov is not equipped with catapults, which means that naval aircraft have to carry lighter payloads and less fuel, according to NATO officials.
