Russia—Moscow Strengthens Presence In Crimea

Russia has been increasing its military presence in Crimea, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014, reports Defense One.  Satellite imagery from January 2018 to April 2019 show at least five S-400 surface-to-air missile batteries, five S-300 air defense systems and multiple fighter jets at four different locations on the peninsula.  About 30,000 Russian troops are deployed to the peninsula, double the size prior to 2014.
