President Vladimir Putin has signed off on an agreement that gives Russia access to its airbase in Syria until 2066, reports Tass (Russia).
Russian and Syrian officials signed a deal in January 2017 to extend Russia's presence at Hmeimim air base. The base is located in Syria's Latakia province. The document set out the legal terms under which Moscow can use the base.
