Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says Moscow has no intention of halting deliveries to Syria of air defense systems despite ongoing violence in that country, reports Interfax-AVN.
Such systems are only effective as defense from external threats and cannot be used to attack protesters, he told reporters Saturday in Moscow.
The air defense systems were signed and paid for by Syria long ago, he added.
