Moscow Agrees To Set Up Joint Defense Group With E.U.

Russia and the European Union have agreed to create a joint working group to plan and coordinate military activities, reports Interfax-AVN (Russia).

Plans were finalized during a visit to Moscow by Swedish Gen. Hokan Syren, the E.U. Military Committee chairman.

Setting up such a group will assist in the planning of joint military activities and ensure decisions are practical ones, said Russian army Gen. Nikolai Makarov, the first deputy defense minister.
