More UAV Surveillance Sought In Border Areas

The Brazilian government has indicated it has plans to use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to patrol its borders with Bolivia, Colombia, Paraguay and Uruguay, reports Mercopress (Uruguay).

The VT-15 UAV, based on Israeli technology, is currently deployed along the border with Paraguay. The unmanned aircraft are used to protect Brazilian rivers and detect infrastructure used by smugglers and marijuana plantations, officials said.
