The French military procurement agency has awarded Sagem a contract to produce five Sperwer Mk II tactical drones for the army, reports Safren, Sagem's parent company.
These new systems are scheduled to be delivered in the second half of 2012 and the first half of 2013, according to a company release.
Such drones have been used for years by French personnel in Afghanistan.
