More Power On The Way For Type 23 Frigates

The British Ministry of Defense has awarded contracts totaling 80 million pounds (US$125 million) for the modernization of the navy's Type 23 frigates.
A 68 million pound (US$106 million) contract with MTU, a Rolls-Royce subsidiary in Germany, covers four new diesel generators and associated upgraded power distribution, as well as a training and support package, according to a ministry release on Thursday.
