The Iranian military is about to begin eight days of naval war games, Reuters reports.
The drills will take place in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman, navy commander Habibollah Sayari said on Tuesday.
The drills are intended to display the navy's defensive capabilities, he said. The games come just two weeks after the Revolutionary Guards staged maritime exercises.
