The Pentagon is expanding its plans to buy 10 Joint High Speed Vessels (JHSVs) for use by the Army and Navy, the Navy Times reports.
The 338-foot-long aluminum, twin-hulled catamarans are now seen to be suitable for a wider variety of missions. SEALs, Marines and riverine squadrons could all use the craft, said Navy Undersecretary Bob Work.
