The five Nordic nations have been preparing a security policy statement aimed at boosting mutual military ties, reports YLE News, the Finnish Broadcasting Co.
The plan calls for Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden to work together in response to peacetime crises and military threats.
The proposal does not seek to create a military alliance, however, and will require approval by the national parliaments, officials said.
