The Indonesian navy has requested that the U.S. Navy step up joint training exercises to cover current and future threats, reports Antara News, Indonesia's national news agency.
The potential expanded training would include surface warfare, submarine combat and logistics components, said Adm. Soeparno, the navy chief.
"The U.S. Navy has some superiority in certain lines, and we have asked them to teach it in the joint exercises," Soeparno said.
