More Action Sought On Banning Cluster Munitions

Representatives of 34 African nations have been meeting this week in Accra, Ghana, to discuss the elimination of cluster bombs on the continent, reports the Accra Daily Mail.
The participants agreed to a plan seeking continent-wide membership of the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions, which prohibits the use, production, stockpiling and transfer of such weapons.
Representatives from Cameroon and Togo announced that their governments have ratified the convention.
