More Than 3 Dozen Insurgents Killed In Series Of Battles

Coalition forces killed at least 40 suspected insurgents on Saturday in a series of clashes across Afghanistan, the Washington Post reports.
An airstrike in Konar province's Nari district in the country's northeast killed 25 people, military officials said.
In Darah-ye Pech district, also in Konar province, NATO soldiers returned fire after coming under attack from rocket-propelled grenades and small arms. They killed "numerous insurgents," a NATO statement said.
