Two bombs have exploded at the house of a governor in Iraq's central city of Diwaniyah, reports the Los Angeles Times.
At least 27 people were killed, many of them police, and more than 30 others were wounded in the Tuesday morning attack in Qadissiyah province, said officials.
It is unclear if the provincial governor, Salam Hussein Alwan, or members of his family were injured.
