Monitors Blocked From Massacre Site, Says U.N.

The head of the United Nations says Syrian forces have prevented U.N. observers from reaching the village of Qubair, reports the Washington Post.

On Wednesday, as many as 78 people were allegedly killed by government troops in Qubair, according to opposition activists.

Syrian state TV described that incident as a massacre, but reported that nine people had been killed, noted the BBC.

The monitors also came under small-arms fire on Thursday, according to U.N....
