Italy has signed a 20 million euro (US$30 million) contract with Oto Melara to acquire 81 turrets for Iveco Light Multirole Vehicles (LMV), Defense News reports.
The LMVs, called Lince vehicles by the Italian army, are currently being used in Afghanistan. They will be equipped with the Hitrole Light turret.
The turrets feature interchangeable 12.7-mm and 7.62-mm machine guns, a 40-mm grenade launcher, thermal camera, laser range finder and TV camera, said company officials. ...
