MoD Orders ASRAAM Missiles; Weapons To Use Repurposed Components

The U.K. Ministry of Defense has awarded MBDA Systems another contract for air-to-air missiles, reports the European missile maker.
The 300 million pound (US$462 million) sustainment order covers the supply of new Advanced Short-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (ASRAAMs) to refresh the existing inventory.
The program reuses components from other MBDA products, such as the Common Anti-Air Modular Missile (CAMM), in order to reduce costs.
