MoD Calls For Small Boost In Defense Budget

The Finnish Ministry of Defense has called for a slight increase in its budget, estimating it will spend US$3.66 billion in 2011, Defense News reports.
That budget proposal falls within a spending framework agreed upon by the MoD and the armed forces in March. The proposal must be ratified as part of the overall national budget.
The total includes a basic stipend of $3.24 billion, as well as a top-up allowance of $418 million to cover one-time additional costs.
