Missile Warning System Now Features Gun-Spotting Capability

A new hostile-fire indication (HFI) capability upgrade for the AAR-47 missile-warning system has been approved for fleet introduction by the Dept. of the Navy, according to a release by Alliant Techsystems (ATK) of Minneapolis.
The upgrade provides enhanced protection by detecting small-caliber weapon fire and rocket-propelled grenades.
This is the first missile-warning system to integrate a hostile-fire indicator capability, said ATK.
