The new head of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has expressed strong opposition to Senate plans to transfer control over the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system to the Army, reports Defense News.
Talk of such a transfer has been ongoing for around a decade. The Army officially operates the THAAD system, while the MDA is responsible for development and modernization.
