Missile Defense Agency Awards More Standard Missile Work

The U.S. Missile Defense Agency has awarded Raytheon a contract for continuing work on the SM-3 Block IIA missile with Japan, reports the defense firm.
The $175 million contract covers engineering and development work for the missile through the preliminary design review of the all-up round, which is scheduled for early 2011.
An option is included for another $9.8 million for future studies.
