Minuteman III ICBM Launched Over Pacific

The U.S. Air Force has successfully test-fired an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., reports the Air Force News Service.

Unspecified "equipment problems" and weather delayed the launch on Wednesday for more than three hours, reported the Santa Maria Times (Calif.).

The missile's single re-entry test vehicle traveled approximately 4,200 miles (6,760 km) to hit a pre-determined target near the Kwajalein Atoll...
