The U.S. Air Force has successfully test-fired an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., reports the Air Force News Service.
Unspecified "equipment problems" and weather delayed the launch on Wednesday for more than three hours, reported the Santa Maria Times (Calif.).
