Minehunters Head To Persian Gulf For Extended Deployment

The British Royal Navy is deploying two minehunters this week for a three-year mission in the Persian Gulf, reports the U.K. Ministry of Defense.
HMS Shoreham and HMS Atherstone will join the British task force in the region.
The minehunters will operate together in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden as they sail for the Persian Gulf, according to the MoD.
The ships will alternate crews during the overseas deployment, said a ministry release.
