Military's Aerial Refueling Capacity Lags, Says General

The current U.S. military aerial refueling capacity is as much as 20 percent short of what could be needed in major conflict, Defense News reports, citing a recent study by the U.S. Transportation Command.

A mix of 59 Air Force KC-10s, 450 KC-135s and 79 U.S. Marine Corps KC-130s would be used to refuel American aircraft in the even of a major conflict, Air Force Brig. Gen. Michelle Johnson told the House Armed Services air and land forces subcommittee.
