Military Training Missions In Afghanistan, Iraq To Continue Into 2020

The Latvian Defense Ministry says that it will maintain its military presence in Afghanistan and Iraq until 2020, reports LSM, Latvia's public broadcaster.

The military will continue training local armed forces despite the expected U.S. reduction of troops in the region, the ministry told the news agency on Tuesday.

There are currently 42 Latvian troops in Afghanistan as part of NATO's Resolute Support mission. The ministry plans to maintain a contingent in Afghanistan until Dec....
