Military Takes Aim At Doctor Shortage

The Israeli military has implemented a military medicine program to deal with a shortage of doctors, reports the Jerusalem Post.
Under the new program, trainees attend medical school under a military academic program with regular students, but also receive additional lectures on battlefield treatment, evacuation, ethics and other topics.
Graduates of the seven-year program will be required to serve as hospital interns and residents as well as military physicians.
