Military Seeks Almost US$1 Billion For Modernization

The Philippine military says it will need at least US$934 million over the next five years for modernization and security programs, reports the Philippine Star.
During a legislative hearing, a military spokesman said about US$261 million would be allocated to the army; US$322 million for the air force; and US$324 million for the navy. The remaining US$36 million is need for the general headquarters and support units.
